Kiyā Buzurg-Ummīd
Contents
Kiyā Buzurg-Ummīd was the second leader of the Order of Assassins. He succeeded Hassan-i Sabbah in 1124. Initially serving as the governor of Lambsar Castle, which he conquered in 1099, he played a crucial role in expanding the Order’s territory across Persia, Syria, and the Levant. Under his leadership, the Order consolidated its network of mountain fortresses and continued its policy of strategic assassination, as demonstrated by the killing of Abbasid Caliph Al-Mustarshid in 1135.
