Ala al-Din Muhammad seventh and penultimate Grandmaster of the Order of Assassins. He assumed leadership of the Nizari Ismaili state at age nine, marking a period of both intellectual flourishing and eventual decline. Under his early reign, Alamut became a refuge for scholars displaced by the Mongol invasions, and its libraries grew in importance. He formed a close friendship with the young Ra’s al-Ghul, who had found sanctuary at Alamut. However, his later years were marked by corruption and decadence, leading to his assassination in an internal power struggle.

Ala al-Din Muhammad, the nine-year-old son of Jalal al-Din Hasan, becomes head of the Nizari Ismaili at Alamut. He openly welcomes outside scholars displaced by the Mongol advance.

Ala al-Din Muhammad, the master of the Order of Assassins, is assassinated in an internal power struggle after he has grown corrupt and decadent. He is succeeded by his son Rukn al-Din Khurshah. The new master betrays the Order to the Mongols and assists them in dismantling the Order’s castles.
